CBT 2nd Annual Rescuethon
WHEN: Saturday, May 4, 2013
TIME: Check
in at 9:00am
WHERE: Marine
Park - Avenue U between East 33 & Stuart Street
This
Rescue-thon is to help raise money for both the academy's
scholarship program and the Sean Casey Animal Rescue center.
CBT's mission is
to spread the love of dance in Brooklyn and beyond. A main
component of this mission is to fund scholarships that benefit
talented but under represented students.
Sean Casey is a
rescue center that takes in unfortunate animals to give them a
higher quality of life. The animals are cared for and/or
rehabilitated until a forever home can be found. Like most
rescue centers, Sean Casey needs money to stay true to their
mission.
The Rescue-thon
brings dancing and dogs together in a fun event for the whole
family.
Registration for the event is $25. The fee covers one (1) owner
and a maximum of two (2) dogs. Walkers do not have to have a dog
to participate.
All registration must be done prior to the event. REGISTRATIONS
AND DONATIONS CANNOT BE ACCEPTED THE DAY OF THE EVENT.

studio via cash or checks made payable to Covenant Ballet

FRINGE NYC: ORPHAN TRAIN
On August 11, 16 - 18 Covenant
Ballet Theatre of Brooklyn performed it's narrative ballet
"Orphan Train" as part of the New York International Fringe
Festival in New York City. Nine of CBT's professional
dancers, accompanied by thirteen of CBT Dance Academy's students
brought to life the story of Rev. Charles Loring Brace and his
plight to save the neglected, impoverished NYC orphans in the
1800's. Read our reviews below...
from Jack Hanley via
NYTheatre.com
"Allowing students to perform
with professionals is an important mission of her company, and
it’s certainly an admirable one. Some dance enthusiasts may
find it dull watching children at various levels of dance
training, and some, like myself, will find it fascinating to
witness the great potential of these young dancers..."
"Covenant's care reaches beyond
dance... They go above and beyond what would be typically expected. Words
cannot express the gratitude and affection I feel for Marla and her staff.. The lessons and skills
Hayley has learned will be carried with her not only through school and dance but
through life."
- Cara Raptis, academy parent
ABOUT CBT
CBT Dance Academy, formerly
known as Covenant Dance Studio has been training dancers
since 1987. Whether it’s serving as a training “bridge”
into the City’s prestigious dance schools or providing
Brooklynites with an excellent alternative to traveling
into the City for their training, CBT's student
programs provide excellent, professional classical
ballet and modern dance instruction.
Many of the school’s students have entered performing
arts Jr. High & High Schools and have continued to study
at Julliard, American Ballet Theatre School, School of
American Ballet, Ailey School’s Certificate and

Purchase, and perform professionally in the US and
Europe.
