CBTB CULTIVATION EVENT - August 27, 2009

Since incorporation, CBTB has been on a mission to build visibility to widen support.  It is our belief that with public prominence comes recognition and financial support.  To launch this effort, the Company has designed informal cultivating events—glimpses of the company that will, Lord willing, generate interest in New York City to promote the company as a worthy force in the world of dance.  It is our hope that these efforts will lead to a fully produced, evening performance in the City.

On August 27, Thursday evening the company presented its first showing at the Ailey School on 55th Street and 9th Avenue. The beautiful studio accommodated over 30 guests. Company dancers Rebeccah Hope Brann, Mandy Sau-Yi Chan, Allison Jay-Baber, Kristin Licata, Jose Rivera, Joseph Tudisco and Matthew Westerby performed two dances from CBTB repertoire, Revolutions and Diamond Caper.  Immediately following the performance, a reception was held at our Director of Development, Fran Kirmser’s apartment. It provided a cozy environment for our guests to mingle with CBTB staff, dancers and board members to review the performance, get to know CBTB and understand our goals and missions.
