POINTE SHOES
Every young girl who wants to be a ballerina imagines herself
twirling on her “toes”. However, it is important to understand
that there are many things that must be considered before
placing a girl “en pointe” and that it takes years of
careful training before and after she receives her first
pair of pointe shoes. Starting pointe too early may cause injury
and damage to the young dancer.
CBTB
Academy female students must be structurally capable, physically
strong and technically competent in order to be eligible for
pointe. Students are required to have danced a minimum of 2-3
years, take a minimum of 3 classes a week and be no younger than
10 years of age before they are allowed to practice on pointe.
The decisions for pointe eligibility are made by the instructors
according to individual student’s capability and physical
development.

“In the past, we have gone to other studios and
no one has exhibited the personal care and attention that Miss
Marla gives to her students. Her thoughtfulness concerning the
physical health of the students approaching pointe instruction
is unequaled.”
