Arts in Education
Covenant Ballet Theatre of Brooklyn has provided numerous comprehensive arts education programs to public school students in Brooklyn and beyond, and has touched thousands of young students and helped schools attain the goals of Blueprint for Teaching & Learning in the Arts and the five strands of the NYC Department of Education dance standards.

Covenant Ballet Theatre of Brooklyn (CBT) offers in-school residencies year-round. We are a DOE Sole Vendor (Code: COV015000) with the ability to customize residencies to match your expectations and needs. We have three program offerings, below.

1. DANCE RESIDENCY PROJECT*
Students create a collaborative dance under the guidance of a professional choreographer.
​
2. DANCE EXPLORATION PROJECT*
Students are introduced to ballet, modern, and jazz dance forms. Culminates in a dance-making workshop.
*RESIDENCY & EXPLORATION project costs range from $150 - $175 per workshop per class.
3. DANCE EXPOSURE PROJECT
Students are introduced to dance forms, dance-making, and attending a live ballet performance.
CBT is announcing the premier of Charles’ Carol, an original, narrative ballet by Marla Hirokawa based on the life and legacy of author Charles Dickens and his famous novella, A Christmas Carol.

The $15 per student ticket fee ($12 per chaperone) gives your students the following:
a) An opportunity to attend a live dance performance on Friday, November 15, at 10:30am in Brooklyn;
b) A pre-performance customized workshop at your school;
c) A post-performance Meet-the-Artist Q&A.
The unique curriculum exposes students to dance concepts while connecting social studies with the performing arts. Through this dance education package, students will receive an unforgettable and lifelong appreciation and love for dance.
